With the launch of the premium pay for essential workers by CT legislature on August 11, 2022, many homecare and personal support services employees are wondering is they qualify to apply for this premium incentive.

Per CNC's Team review for the eligibility requirement workers who worked in home care and personal support services are eligible to apply for this pay. According to the Connecticut’s office of the Comptroller, the program aims to reward health care workers who were on the frontlines during the pandemic for up-to $1000 per eligible essential workers. The minimum criteria are as follows; the essential worker must have:

  • Worked as an essential worker in Connecticut between March 10, 2020, and May 7, 2022.
  • Been unable to work from home.
  • Worked in the private sector. This program is not available to federal, state or municipal essential workers.
  • Earned $149,999 or less.

We advise all caregivers to review the information at https://www.ctessentialworkerrelief.org, and apply for this incentive as applicable.
