There are currently two approved vaccines in circulation. These are the Pfizer BioNTech Covid-19 Vaccine and Moderna Covid-19 Vaccine. In addition, a third vaccine by Johnson and Johnson was approved by the FDA this week. 

The Johnson and Johnson Vaccine is a single dose vaccine which is about 66% effective against the Covid virus and 85% effective against preventing severe illness according to data published by the American Hospital Association.

Different states have different criteria for determining the priority list of individuals who are due to receive the vaccine. In Connecticut, Health Care Workers including Homecare Workers are fortunate to be on the priority list of frontline workers who are eligible to receive the vaccine immediately. Compassion N Care is pleased that our workers have the opportunity to receive the vaccine, in addition to other safety measures which provides a line of defense in assisting in the performance of our duties.

The state of Connecticut rolled out new age-base criteria for vaccine distribution to all residents of Connecticut. Through a centralize toll free number, appointments are being scheduled at different locations throughout the state, seven days a week, from 8am to 8p.
